The city of Dallas itself, not including the surrounding suburbs, have several neighborhoods that are well-known and distinct. Most residents would describe any of the neighborhoods listed below as family friendly, while each offers its own charm and appeal. Lake Highlands for example is dominated by family homes but is quickly adding local restaurants. M Streets / Lower Greenville is great for fairly quick access to downtown and offers restaurants galore. Oak Lawn offers some of the closest downtown access while still maintaining a neighborhood feel. SUBURBS
The various suburbs of Dallas all have their own appeal, from updated downtown squares, to great school districts, to newer homes. In some cities, you can snag larger homes for your money and neighborhood parks are abounding. In other cities, new construction is booming and you're close to the newer head quarters of several large companies.
